Remote consultation is the latest module to be added to the myGP platform, it provides practices and patients with the flexibility to have a consultation without the need to travel to the surgery.

Remote consultation provides:

  • Aggregated data to facilitate clinical triage
  • Asynchronous in-app chat between GP and a patient
  • Convenient voice or video consultation

Remote consultation on the myGP platform allows GPs and practice staff to review a patient without the need for a traditional face to face appointment. It highlights the information recorded by the patient in relation to their GP appointment, allowing the clinician to triage the patient based on the data provided.

The GP can offer, where appropriate, an alternate more appropriate appointment such a nurse or a telephone or video consultation by sending the patient a message on the myGP platform which is received via myGP app, or via SMS – reducing the number of unnecessary appointments in primary care.

Calls to patients can be initiated as voice only or as video and practices, where appropriate, are able to set up video consultation as a slot type within the myGP app, allowing patients to directly book a video appointment.

Remote Consultation complements the Intelligent Care Navigation module, preGP, which has proven to reduce unnecessary appointments by 26% and free up GP time.

Adding Remote Consultation to the myGP platform allows patients to move from appointment booking through to consultation without leaving the app, allowing myGP to act as a truly integrated solution to digital first primary care.

Requirements

To use this product, you will need to have the following:

  • myGP App setup through myGP Connect (free remote setup call is provided)
  • Webcam and headsets compatible with your operating system (these are not supplied)
